Terms of Use

Last updated

These terms explain the rules for using MY-BOOK, whether you're here to read, comment or publish. By using MY-BOOK you agree to them, so please read them carefully.

About these terms

MY-BOOK is run by myproject.ai (“MAI”, “we”, “us”). These terms apply whenever you use MY-BOOK, whether you read, comment, follow authors or publish posts.

Our Community Guidelines form part of these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your personal data. If you use MY-BOOK for a business, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.

Your account

  • You can read MY-BOOK without an account. To write, comment, like, save or follow, you need a myproject.ai account, which you can use across myproject.ai services.
  • You must be 13 or older. If you're under 18, please read these terms with a parent or guardian.
  • Give accurate details and keep them up to date. Don't pretend to be someone else, and don't share, sell or transfer your account.
  • Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account, so tell us straight away through our contact page if you think someone else has used it.

Your content

You own what you write

You keep ownership of the posts, comments, images and other content you add to MY-BOOK.

Our licence to display it

When you publish content, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, format and share it on MY-BOOK and in related features: author pages, search, RSS feeds, newsletters and digests, link previews on social media, the Listen audio version, and promotion of MY-BOOK. The licence lasts while your content is on MY-BOOK, plus the short time it takes for backups and caches to clear after you delete it. You can delete your posts and comments at any time.

Co-authored posts

If you invite co-authors, editors or reviewers, everyone who contributes gives us the same licence for their part. The post's owner decides when it's published, updated or deleted.

Your promises

You confirm that you have the right to publish everything you post, including images and quotes, and that it follows these terms, our Community Guidelines and the law. You're responsible for your content and the claims it makes.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • break the law, or help or encourage anyone else to;
  • post hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit or violent content, or anything that exploits or endangers children;
  • share other people's personal information without their permission;
  • copy other people's work without permission or credit, or infringe copyright, trade marks or other rights;
  • post spam, scams, phishing or malware, or hide paid promotion;
  • fake engagement such as views, likes, follows or shares, or use bots and scripts to create accounts, post, or copy content in ways that harm MY-BOOK;
  • try to break, overload or get around our security, limits or moderation.

AI writing tools

  • MY-BOOK offers optional AI tools that help you draft, rewrite and improve posts, and that create audio versions. AI can be wrong, out of date or unoriginal, so check facts, figures, quotes and sources before you publish.
  • You're responsible for everything you publish, including text an AI tool suggested.
  • Don't put other people's personal data or confidential information into AI tools. The text you send is processed by an AI provider to produce the result.
  • Don't use AI to create misleading content, such as fake reviews, invented quotes or images presented as real.
  • AI features may change, be limited or be switched off at any time.

Promoted products and projects

Posts can include blocks that show products, projects and calls to action from other myproject.ai services. We count how often these blocks are shown and clicked, as daily totals.

If you write about something you're paid for, were given for free or have a business link to, say so clearly in the post, for example with “Ad” or “Gifted”. UK advertising rules (the CAP Code) require this.

Products and projects are offered by their sellers or owners under their own terms. Anything you buy or arrange through them is between you and them.

Moderation and removal

  • We can review, hide, remove or limit content that breaks these terms or our Community Guidelines, or that we have to remove by law. We can also require an author's posts to be reviewed before they go live.
  • Authors can approve, hide and delete comments on their own posts.
  • We can block an account from commenting, for a time or permanently, and suspend or close accounts for serious or repeated breaches.
  • Where we can, we'll tell you what we did and why. If you think we got it wrong, contact us to appeal and a person will review it.

Our responsibility to you

  • We work hard to keep MY-BOOK running and secure, but we provide it “as is” and can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Features may change over time.
  • Posts and comments are written by their authors, not by us. They're general information, not professional advice. Check with a qualified professional before acting on anything about health, safety, money, law or building work.
  • We're not responsible for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms. If you use MY-BOOK for business, we're not responsible for business losses such as lost profits, revenue or data.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. If you're a consumer, your legal rights are not affected.

Ending your account

  • You can stop using MY-BOOK at any time. To delete your account, contact us.
  • We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop running MY-BOOK. Where it's reasonable, we'll give you notice first and a chance to save a copy of your posts.
  • The parts of these terms that are meant to continue, such as the licence for backups, our responsibility to you and governing law, still apply after your account ends.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If you live in the EU, you keep the protection of your local consumer law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page, and for important changes we'll tell you in advance by email or with a notice on MY-BOOK. If you keep using MY-BOOK after a change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using MY-BOOK and ask us to close your account.
